Last days in Tahoe had some ups and down for us. On the one side we didn’t get a lot of good weather in „sunny“ California. On the other side Hiasl got a little injury while shooting (and overshooting) the pro line in northstar. 3 stitches and 260 bucks later he was only facing a swolen eye and some easy days. Rob and Scheps had to leave so Hiasl drove them to San Francisco. They spent a funny afternoon at Fishermans Wharf before finally they headed to San Francisco Airport. Back at Tahoe the rest oft he crew had some additional riding days with changing conditions but still were able to get some shots. At the last day the went to Reno to visit the Smokin Snowboards Factory. Thanks to Jay fort he tour. April is always incalculable. So when weather was bad we had to find some alternative riding. The wellknown junkyard next to Sierra was our first stop. There we built a funny little double setup. One part was the worlds smallest but funniest stepup/gap jump, the other part was a upladder to gap.

We also found a new location right next to Garrets new home. Lots of different pipes from a construction yard gave us plenty of options for different jib obstacles. Watch out to find some of this action in the upcoming new Bamboo movie.

It’s time for another update straight outta California. The last few days we have been pretty productive filming in different resorts around Lake Tahoe. Beside Sierra and northstar @Tahoe we also drove to Squaw Valley. Unfortunatly their parks was not as good as in the last year. But there was another reason to go there. A few days before Marc came from Salt Lake City, Utah to join the Red Bull Progression Camp. They had their own private park with a huge superpipe, 2 airbags and some crazy big jumps. Thats where the triples are „made“.

Peter and Clemens arrived in Reno. But unfortunatly their luggage didn´t made it to their final destination. So they had a relaxing first day with chilling at Garretts place and waiting for their gear. On Wednesday winter came back to Tahoe – heavy snowfall and wind so after some laps we dicided to call it a day. Heading down to Carson City for some bowling and shopping. Starting with some frames of bowling and one or two gin tonics we ended up in a line dance class with the hottest grannys and grand dads. An other three chin tonics and we really rocked the line dance club, before we went for some drunken shopping at Wall Mart. Was a funny day, but we are really looking forward to the shooting days at Sierra at Tahoe.

After a short stopover via Zürich it took us 12 hours before we arrived in San Francisco. Another 3 hours driving to get to South Lake Tahoe. After a 28 hours journey we finally arrived at Garretts house. Thanks to him for beeing our host for the next weeks! Tired but totaly motivated after some hours of sleep we headed to Sierra-at-Tahoe to check out their parks. They got so much snow this winter that they could built a lot of different jumps. So it is pretty nice and we are looking forward to shoot there. On the next day we went to Squwa Valley for some laps, but their parks have been better the last years. Maybe the shape crew is too bussy, because they are hosting the Red Bull Progression Camp these days. So we could watch some triples! We are looking forward to the arrival of Peter and Clemens. Next days we are going to shoot at Sierra at Tahoe.

From 31.3 – 3.4.  the Spindl Spring Session took place for the fifth time in Spindle Mlyn, Czech Republic. The guys from snowparkdesign did a great job by dragging all the snow together and built a super nice set-up for the season finals. You could ride a top to bottom jibline with different funny and creative obstalces or you could go big on various jumps. Next to the pipe there was a double kicker line with a gap jump followed by a huge step down and a massive corner at the very end. Several media people from different countries have been invited to shoot 4 days in this awesome park. Bamboo took the chance to enjoy the spring  session as well. Heimi, Hiasl, Fuchsi, Rudi and Alex had some nice days and have been able to collect some more shots for the upcoming movie. Beside riding all day long there was still some energy left to do some crazy party and drink one or two beers with the other riders from several countries..

Thanks to the organisers and sponsors for making this event possible, maybe some other resorts can take look at this event and get an idea about what they could do in spring to bring people to their resort. We are looking forward to next year and would be happy to come back to Spindle Mlyn.

Clemens earned another two good results last weekend and once again he showed that he is the upcoming Austrian Rider of 2011! Last week the Absolut Park Flachauwinkl was the place to be at the Quiksilver Spring Battle young Austrian riders fight against some of the best international riders. On Thursday Clemens and Woina had to ride the qualification, due the high temperatures it was super slushy and some wind made it hard to get enough speed for the jumps. Clemens could handel it and made it into the Finals. In the end he ranked on 4th Position! watch his final run. Wögna aka. Bärli also showed up on the mountain, not able to ride cause of his injury he watched the action cillin in the sun and worked on his tan! After the Spring Battle Clemens was heading down to Italy. Valmalenco hosted the 15th FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships. Crazy this guy is still a junior and the Slopestyle Junior World Champion 2011! Congrats, the Bamboos are proud of you!
